History 

  SwissFlax GmbH was founded in 2014 out of first steps of IG Niutex. The goal is to re-establish Swiss flax in the markets and to initiate industrial production. SwissFlax is the drving motor and the connection point between  the Swiss flax farmers and the textile industry.

Historically flax has been cultivated in Switzerland for centuries. Also industrial spinnning and weaving was located here. The spinning plant of Niederlenz was founded around 1758.
