- Lonfil has become synonymous of
chenille, a particular and versatile kind of yarn, basic for the
upholstery, knitwear and apparel industry. Mr. Angelo Longo,
founder, started producing chenille yarn as an artisan in the late
sixties.
- Lonfil was established in 1977 and throughout the years has become
one of the leading companies worldwide operating in this particular
market.
- Trough several specialized production units Lonfil has reached
high productivity levels thanks to highly sophisticated machinery
which is continuously being improved. At present the production
exceeds 3 million Kgs per year.
- In order to increase the quality of
its products Lonfil is constantly investing in high technology and
professional training. Incoming row material is being checked
carefully and the collaboration with several vendors allows to
improve the quality of the yarn utilized to produce chenille yarn.
- Each production stage is monitored by computerized systems able to
detect every variation or defects on the chenille yarn, information
readily available to the quality control supervisors.
- Thanks to the great efforts of the specialized staff which is one
of the strongest values of the company Lonfil has achieved in 1998
the ISO 9002 certification.
