Bekintex
These metal fibers are up to 60 times thinner than human hair and are available in various alloys. By using the metallic and fibre-like nature of metal fibers, unique products have been and are being developed. Bekaert successfully combines various technologies, in order to produce excellent products with a clear added value for its customers. Fibre Technologies also shares the Bekaert
group's commitment to excellence.
Slivers
BEKAERT BEKINOX® LT are slivers of a Polyamide/BEKAERT BEKINOX® blend. These slivers have specially been developed to facilitate the blending of the BEKAERT BEKINOX® fibers during carpet yarn spinning. The use of LT allows to obtain an economical and highly efficient solution for the static control of all types of textile floor coverings.
· Easy to process · Preblended · Minimal % required
· Long lifetime · Up to very low resistances with minimal % of fibers· Humidity independent
BEKAERT BEKINOX® VS is a stretch-broken sliver of 100% stainless steel fibers. They can be blended with all spun fibers at the spinning mill to obtain static reducing or electrically conductive yarns in a wide range of yarn numbers. If BEKAERT BEKINOX® is used in larger quantities, electrically conductive and EM-shielding fabrics and nonwovens can be produced. The concentration of BEKAERT BEKINOX® to be blended depends upon : nature of textile fibre, technical requirements of the applications, wear etc. A highly qualified engineering staff works with our customers to help them to specify the optimal and most economical usage of the stainless steel fibers in the specific products.
· Easy to process · Minimal % required
· Corrosion resistant · Long lifetime · Up to very low resistances with minimal % of fibers

In anti-static protective clothing BEKAERT BEKINOX® BK 50, mainly introduced in the fabric in a grid structure of 10 x 10 mm, allows one to easily fulfill international norms for flammable and explosive atmospheres and for the electronic industry. It is the preferred solution in the market due to its outstanding wash resistance. Furthermore, this highly conductive yarn provides static control in a wide range of industrial applications (e.g. FIBC, conveyor belts, woven filter cloth) and has a good electro-magnetic shielding performance. Applications : Originally, BEKAERT BEKINOX® BK 50 has been designed for the production of conductive backing of carpeting. It can be introduced into primary and secondary backing of tufted carpets and into woven carpets. An important application is the linear conductive construction of secondary backings of tufted carpets for computer rooms and office buildings.
Processing : the yarns can be woven, knitted, sewn, … Sometimes the yarn is used when BEKINOX® fibre cannot be directly applied to the material s.a. BCF yarns, polypropylene tapes etc. Moreover, it is always possible to ply or assemble BEKAERT BEKINOX® yarns with textile yarns as well.
Cost effective : · Easy to process · Minimal % required
Best performance : · Outstanding wash resistance · Fulfills EN 1149 norm on electrostatic properties of protective clothing

A special range of BEKINOX® VN/HT continuous stainless steel filament yarns is available for heating applications, having a very precise electrical resistance.
BEKAERT BEKINOX® VN 35/1x1 is a 304L stainless steel monofilament with a high electrical conductivity. BEKAERT BEKINOX® VN 35/1x1 is very flexible, strong and chemical inert. BEKAERT BEKINOX® VN 35/1x1 can be used in most textile processes, possibly plied with other yarns. Applications are e.g. protective clothing (anti-static, EMI), cut resistant yarns and fashion (metal look). Other diameters are available upon request. Our metal fibers and processed products are available in various alloys, such as stainless steel, high temperature resistant alloys, Nickel and Nickel alloys, Titanium, Aluminum and Copper. A summary of the available alloys is given in the section dedicated to this subject.
