Monofilament are often used to produce nets. Here are a few examples of net applications:

• Balloon Netting
  Used to hold balloons to keep them from floating away
  Twisted nylon, single strand monofilament, polypropylene 
  
• Barrier Netting
  Any netting that is used to prevent an object or person from leaving or entering a specific location.
  Almost any netting can be used. 
  
• Baseball Netting
  Used in batting cage nets, foul ball nets etc.

• Basketball Netting
  Used to make basketball goal nets, or used to prevent basketballs from leaving the court
