The range of Climabel wins over - besides the known advantages of the Billerbeck products like first-class quality, excellent materials and high ecological awareness - through the extraordinary characteristic to react on changes in temperature and thus to offer the sleeper a constant tempered comfort climate. Dependent on the ambient temperature the sleeper emits warmth to the blanket, which can be returned at coldness. This is the significant difference to all previous fiber technologies, which indeed can accumulate energy but are not able to give it back to the skin. This active transportation of heat is made possible through paraffin, which is added to the fibers during spinning. The result is so called PCM (Phase Change Material)-fibers, that reduces the relative humidity in microclimate and enables an exchange of heat.

Billerbeck of Germany uses these PCM-fibers from Rudolstadt exclusively in the extra lightweight and breathable Airmagic-padding. Previous PCM-fibers could only be two-dimensionally applied to a fleece with the drawbacks that the fleece was very heavy, not cuddly and not adjustable to individual needs. In contrast Airmagic accomplishes a three-dimensional application of fleece. Through that method, in this way unrivalled, the carrier material decisively improves the grip. Furthermore Airmagic is softer than conventional fleeces. By adding a small proportion of polyester Airmagic guarantees an optimal transport of moisture and heat. This assembly of material, in combination with the accurately coordinated, silken batiste, demonstrably enhances the thermal and physiological properties of Climabel. The sleeper percepts this technological innovation as an  noticeably increased sensation of comfort.

If one takes into account that people consciously perceive already small changes in the relative humidity the moisture and temperature regulating effect of Climabel can not be valued high enough. One quasi gets beddings with an "air conditioner", which care for an especially comfortable sleep with the guarantee to feel well. Characteristically for Billerbeck, the basic material of the Airmagic-padding consists of renewable primary products and is very environmental compatible according to Ökotex-Standard 100 and thanks to being washable and breathable suitable at best for allergic persons. Even after many processes of washing the temperature regulating effect does not loose its  force.

The clima fiber with paraffin-supplement, which is used in the bedding-segment exclusively at Billerbeck, naturally achieves a clear increase of comfort of other textiles as well. We see practical and useful applications for the PCM-fibers in different textile branches, like for example  functional sports wear, outdoor clothes an shoes.
